ELECTRONIC VISUAL AIDS

Electronic visual aids make use of a zoom television camera to magnify your materials on to a television screen. There are different ways of doing this but all use the same principles.

When you buy the system, you can have the camera positioned in a number of different ways:wpe28630.gif (88549 bytes)

1. Aimed down at a platform where you put your papers.

Commonly called a CCTV and manufactured by a number of companies. The units come with montiors of various sizes and can be color or black/white. They have variable magnification from 2X to 60X, and can reverse polarity to white on black.

3. Hand held, to move across the page by hand.    It is sometimes called a "MOUSE-CAM" since it resembles a computer mouse.    With this, if you like, you can purchase only the camera and use your own television monitor to view your papers. Magnification with these  are limited to 2X to 8X.
